This page discusses the opportunities available through the ThanksUSA organization, such as the yearly treasure hunt and scholarship program.
The Treasure Hunt
The American history treasure hunt is a way of supporting the American values while also promoting the scholarship program available for the children and spouse of military members. This years treasure hunt in the ninth treasure hunt, and participation is free though donations are greatly appreciated.
The first chapter of Treasure Hunt Nine began November 28, 2013, and ended December 31, 2013.
Additional chapters began being released starting January 1, 2014 and will continue to be released each month until May. Participants have until May 31, 2014 to be eligible for the grand prize. Latecomers to the treasure hunt may visit previous chapters and still be eligible.

ThanksUSA puts on events throughout the year, providing support for their mission. The events happen during most months of the year across the U.S., though many are in Virginia and the D.C. area.

Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships are available for the children and spouse of military personnel.Very specific criteria must be met to be eligible. The specifics of the scholarship and the criteria are avilable here.
Scholarships can be worth up to $3,000, and dependents can only use it for undergraduate studies. Spouses may also use it for non-degree licensure/certification programs. Applications are due electronically by 11:59 p.m. CDT on May 15, 2014. All documents must be postmarked or uploaded by the same date.
Other Ways to Participate
ThanksUSA also provides other simple ways to show thanks or help the organization.
- Letters of Thanks - You can write a thank you letter to the troops, the organization, just about anything or anyone. You can also read other people's heartfelt thank you letters.
- Take Action - Raise support for ThanksUSA, for military personnel, and get together with friends, family and neighbours. Do creative and fun activities to make money or celebrate someone special.
- Donate - Make a donation to ThanksUSA to keep its wonderful scholarship program running for generations to come!
